SURE is an acronym for Stirling University Research and Enterprise.

We exist as a separate limited company – SURE Limited – and are the University’s commercialisation and knowledge transfer department.

We are here to help you:

• bring in money from external companies/charities/public sector bodies, who pay you for the expertise which you provide to them in the form of contract research, consultancy, or training.
  
  
• exploit any Intellectual Property (IP) that you develop while working at the University by protecting it and then exploiting it directly or licensing or selling it to others.
  
  
• set up a commercial venture while working at the University. This is usually selling a product or service that is based upon your expertise, know-how, or IP.
  
  
• engage with external organisations through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme (KTPs)
  
  
• manage Proof of Concept (PoC) programmes.
